Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin continues to progress and gave us all a reason to stop and pause on Saturday.
Saturday afternoon, things continued to get better and better for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
Throughout the week, Hamlin had gone from being clinically dead on Monday night to alive, breathing without a breathing tube and now able to even check on his social media.
The progress this young man has made in just a few days is nothing short of spectacular, and a true act of God.
The man of the hour, himself, took to his social media on Saturday to give us an update straight from his mouth. Hamlin took a moment to thank the world for all of the support and prayer.

What exactly did Hamlin remind us? It’s simple: it’s bigger than football, and no matter who you are or what your background is, we can always come together for a greater cause.

You can look at this however you want. Whether you see this from a faith-based point of view, an intellectual point of view, a generally spiritual point of view, or some other point of view — the moral of the story remains the same.
In football, in sports, and in life, there will always be setbacks. There will always be tragedy. These things are unavoidable by nature. We will, ourselves, endure trials and tribulation. We will witness those we love go through the same.
We will also witness someone we don’t even know go through their own nightmare or tragedy.
And that’s where it becomes an opportunity.
It’s an opportunity for us to come together. It’s an opportunity for us to take time out of our day to do something bigger than check our likes on Instagram, senselessly shop online or scroll through mindless videos for hours.
Through technology and social media, we have a tool to use for something far greater. It can become a tool to unite people from all different places of the world, with all different backgrounds and, God forbid, fans of the opposite football teams.
We have seen the world come together for one young man, united in prayer and in love. And as we continue to see positive update after positive update, you can’t help but smile knowing that he is in the midst of being a living, breathing miracle.
Let Hamlin’s words serve as a reminder that we all did, indeed, come together and that we can do it again, and again, and again, if we consciously put forth the effort.
