Tre’Davious White is active for the Buffalo Bills vs. Detroit Lions
The Buffalo Bills will be looking for their eighth victory this season and their third victory on Thanksgiving over the past four years. This time they will be playing the Detroit Lions, who have a three-game win streak and enter this game with a 4-6 record overall.
The big news this week is that cornerback Tre’Davious White is active for the first time this season. This will be the first game White is active for since he suffered a torn ACL last Thanksgiving against the New Orleans Saints.
While he is active, I would expect that the Buffalo Bills will slowly work him back into the defense as they ramp up his workload over the next few weeks.
The bad news is that the Bills will be missing a few key players on defense, particularly at defensive end.
The Bills will be missing Greg Rousseau for the third straight game but his replacement for the last two games, A.J. Epenesa, is also out for today’s game. The team did elevate Mike Love from the practice squad and he is active today. Love has been with the team for a few years now on the practice squad and knows this defense well.
Tremaine Edmunds is out once again due to a groin injury and this will be his second consecutive game missed. He will be replaced by Tyrel Dodson, who had a good game last week against the Browns.
Unfortunately, the Bills will be missing a key part of their offense as well for this game against the Lions. The Bills will be without center Mitch Morse for this game as he was dealing with an ankle injury this week and was not able to practice. He should be replaced by Ryan Bates at center with the team then likely starting Bobby Hart or Greg Van Roten at guard.
The good news for the Buffalo Bills though is that cornerback Kaiir Elam is active for today’s game after missing the past two games. He should return to being the starter opposite of Dane Jackson and rotate with Christian Benford throughout the game.
