It wasn’t their best performance of the season but the Buffalo Bills went to Detroit and got the win over the Cleveland Browns by a final score of 31-23. When considering what the team had to do to get through this week to get to that point, it was rather impressive how this team played.

This game was certainly a team effort but there were a number of players that stood out that helped them end their two-game losing streak and get back into the win column.

Matt Milano

There is a case to be made that on Sunday linebacker Matt Milano was the best player on the field, for either team. The Bills entered this game without Tremaine Edmunds, who was ruled out due to a groin injury and would have Tyrel Dodson starting in his place.

This was not ideal for a team that was set to face Nick Chubb and the Browns’ run game. However, it didn’t matter with Matt Milano on this defense. He finished second on the team in tackles with 12 but also had a sack, a fumble recovery, and three tackles for a loss.

The Bills’ defense has a number of stars like Von Miller, Tre’Davious White and Jordan Poyer but there is a case to be made that Milano is the most valuable part of this defense because of what he is able to do.

He is a versatile linebacker that can almost do everything a team would want from that position from dropping back into coverage against tight ends and running backs to making plays behind the line of scrimmage as well as those impact plays like sacks and turnovers.
