For the second straight day, Josh Allen was unable to practice due to the elbow injury he suffered against the New York Jets. This is not surprising as Sean McDermott described the injury as “day-to-day” but tomorrow will be the big test for the team’s starting quarterback.

If Josh Allen was to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, he would likely need to at least get in a limited practice on Friday. Even if he doesn’t practice, it would be surprising to see the team rule him out on Friday and probably will drag the decision out right up until game time.

Five other Buffalo Bills miss Thursday’s practice alongside Josh Allen

Unfortunately for the Buffalo Bills, Josh Allen isn’t the only starter who missed Thursday’s practice.

Similar to Allen, safety Jordan Poyer, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, and defensive end Greg Rousseau sat out the second straight practice this week. Poyer has been dealing with an elbow injury for a few weeks now and did miss last week’s game against the Jets due to the injury.

As for Tremaine Edmunds, he is dealing with both a heel and groin injury according to the practice report. The starting linebacker was limited for most of last week due to a heel injury but was able to play against the Jets. However, with the additional injury it might be tough for him to play this week.

Another player worth watching is rookie Kaiir Elam, who was limited yesterday due to an ankle injury and unfortunately was not able to practice today. It is usually not a good sign for players who see their practice participation go down during the week.

The Bills though potentially could be getting some help at the position if Tre’Davious White is able to return. He was moved to the active roster last week but hasn’t been active for a game yet.

The good news on the injury report from Thursday was two players appear to be trending towards returning for Sunday’s game as starting right tackle Spencer Brown and linebacker Matt Milano were full participants on Thursday. Both players missed last week’s game due to injuries.
