5 takeaways from the Buffalo Bills loss against the NY Jets in Week 9
Has the league caught up to Josh Allen?
Josh Allen began the season looking almost unstoppable and was playing at an MVP level. However, after the bye week the Bills franchise quarterback has now had back-to-back games where he has not looked like the same quarterback.
Last week against the Packers, Allen had only 218 passing yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions while completing only 52% of his passes. This week, while Allen did have over 85 rushing yards but he struggled as a passer with only 205 passing yards and completed only 53% of his passes and two interceptions.
The interceptions in particular are concerning and it raises the question if defenses have figured something out in stopping Josh Allen through the air. He doesn’t appear to be reading the defense well and making questionable throws as both interceptions seemed to go right to a Jets’ defender.
There were also a number of other throws that could have been interceptions that fortunately the Jets would drop.
Every great quarterback goes through these slumps but the question is how long this slump carries on for Josh Allen. There is no other way to say it than this was Josh Allen’s worse game in probably the last two seasons and he needs to improve his level of play.
