Mitch Morse (and Rodger Saffold/Ryan Bates)
If Josh Allen is going to be successful this week, he is going to need time to make the right throw and this is going to fall on the offensive line, particularly Mitch Morse and the starting guards. The reason is that the Jets have Quinnen Williams, who is playing excellent football right now and has been almost unblockable over the past few weeks.
Williams was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month after recording 4.5 sacks and 12 QB hits in just October. According to Jon Macri with Pro Football Focus, Williams leads the league in pressures of 2.5 seconds or less among interior defensive linemen with 24, one more than Aaron Donald.
The Buffalo Bills are likely going to use the same game plan that they did against Aaron Donald early in the year. This should mean more quick passes, moving the pocket away from Williams, and having two offensive linemen engage with the Jets’ defensive tackle every play.
