Buffalo Bills Trade Target: Nyheim Hines

The Buffalo Bills drafted James Cook in the second round in hopes that he could bring a different dynamic to the offense. He was an excellent pass catching running back at Georgia but that hasn’t translated yet to the NFL in the first half of the season.

It is way too early to say that Cook was a bust or that he won’t be able to make an impact in the NFL. However, the Bills are hoping to win a Super Bowl this year and need a player to contribute this year.

Nyheim Hines is a running back that could certainly do that and has had at least 40 receptions each of his first four years in the league, including two seasons with over 60. He also has 1,537 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns in those first four years of his career.

This season, Hines already has 23 receptions and 159 receiving yards. However, Hines not only could contribute on offense but also on special teams as he has 73 career punt returns and 13 kickoff returns.

The Colts did sign Hines to a three-year contract extension at the beginning of last season but the Buffalo Bills could release Hines after the season and that move would result in only $3 million in dead cap if the Bills view a trade for Hines as a move for only this season.
