4 safeties the Buffalo Bills could target before the trade deadline

If the Buffalo Bills were to trade for any of the previous three safeties, they almost certainly would have the expectations of being a starter for this defense. However, the final safety is Bobby McCain, who is currently with the Washington Commanders, and could be a starter but at the very least would be a veteran backup at the position.
McCain is in his eighth season in the NFL and began his career with the Miami Dolphins. He would play his first six seasons there before joining Washington last offseason. McCain would start 16 games last season for the Commanders and have a career-high in tackles (63), interceptions (4), and passes defended (9).
As for the Commanders, they are a team that will probably be looking to make some moves at the deadline as they are 2-4 currently and are going to be without Carson Wentz for a few weeks due to a finger injury.
As for the Buffalo Bills, they could be interested in adding him as he probably has some familiarity with Sean McDermott’s defense. He is currently playing for Ron Rivera and both run similar defensive schemes.
Of all four safeties on this list, this is the one trade that makes the most sense to me. He is an experienced safety and would likely only cost the Buffalo Bills a Day 3 pick to get a deal done.
