The Carolina Panthers were expected to be sellers at the trade deadline after they fired head coach Matt Rhule earlier this month. However, the front office didn’t wait until the deadline to confirm this belief as they have already traded Robbie Anderson and Christian McCaffrey.

However, they are probably not done there and one player that could be on the move is Xavier Woods. He was signed as a free agent this offseason after playing for the Minnesota Vikings last season and prior to that four years with the Dallas Cowboys.

In his career, Woods has had 70 starts across the three teams with 387 total tackles and five interceptions.

The other reason a player like Xavier Woods makes sense is that he is under contract for two more years after this season. Since the Bills do have questions at the position with Jordan Poyer set to be a free agent, having a player like Woods already on the team is a good backup plan.
