Grading Josh Allen’s performance from Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs

How did Josh Allen do in the Buffalo Bills’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6?
The Buffalo Bills came away with a huge win on the road to the Kansas City Chiefs. Improving to 5-1 on the season and defeating the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium is hard to do. The defense came in with the mentality to bend but not break and forced two interceptions on Mahomes with one of those coming on the last possession for the Chiefs.
The Bills’ offense looked pretty sluggish Sunday only putting up 24 points which is an underwhelming performance for the high-octane offense they have. The fact that the Bills were 4 for 11 on 3rd down is inexcusable for this type of offense that just put 38 points on the Steelers’ defense. Even with the slow start Ken Dorsey did a wonderful job scheming players open and implementing the run with Singletary.
Josh Allen on the day was 27-40, 329 yards with 3 touchdowns with only one turnover on the day and just one sack. If the Bills can eliminate that one turnover and only give up one sack, the offense will be in great shape and continue to ascend. However, being one of three on fourth down for the day and stalling in the red zone leading to field goals instead of touchdowns was costly.
With just 3 points at the end of the second quarter, Josh Allen made a huge play hitting Gabe Davis for the touchdown heading into the half and creating some momentum. Josh Allen was very efficient with the ball and hardly put the ball in harm’s way. Both defenses were very stingy all game long and made both teams methodically move the ball down the field by keeping everything in front of them.
When the ball was in Josh Allen’s hands with the game on the line he delivered and that’s precisely what the best quarterbacks do. Josh Allen made a big-time play with 2:00 minutes left in the game picking up a huge first down with the legs hurdling a Chiefs defender was something special to see.
Josh Allen came through in the clutch hitting Dawson Knox for the go-ahead lead. With the Chiefs having one possession left to answer Taron Johnson made the play of the game picking off Mahomes with 50 sec left.
