Kaiir Elam must blanket Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a deep ball playmaker, with his blazing speed and size. He is a big difference-maker for the Chiefs’ offense.

The chunk plays aren’t there like they used to be with Tyreek Hill but Kaiir Elam must be very cautious and aware of Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s speed in the passing game as he can take an 8-yard hitch to the house if coverage is too soft.

Kaiir Elam must suffocate Valdes-Scantling in the passing game by not letting anything get behind him because Mahomes will find him and make you pay. Marquez Valdes-Scantling has over 13 yards a reception, and he is competent when given the targets.

So far the Chiefs haven’t gone his way much but I have a feeling that will change in this game as they know the Bills have rookie cornerbacks that they will want to test.

If Elam can hold him in check by not allowing the big explosive plays, the Buffalo Bills will be right where they want to be in slowing this offense down. Making Mahomes get off his first read and scan the field as this will allow Von Miller and Greg Rousseau to wreak havoc on Mahomes.

The Buffalo Bills have the players and the coaching staff to put together an effective game plan. It will be just a matter of doing the ordinary at a high level rather than being extraordinary.
