Taron Johnson must contain Travis Kelce in coverage

Taron Johnson will be a great matchup for the best tight end in the NFL Travis Kelce. Taron Johnson has the size and speed to disrupt Kelce off the line. The Chiefs’ offense centers around Kelce in the passing game, with the innovative scheme that Andy Reid has implemented he always finds a way to get Kelce involved.

Taron Johnson must be physical at the point to attack with his bump-and-run technique as physicality is key to slowing Kelce down. LaVonte David had a lot of success in the Super Bowl two years ago when he lined up on Kelce with being extremely violent at the line of scrimmage and knocking Kelce off his trajectory for a second or two. This would force Patrick Mahomes to work through his progressions and find someone else.

If Taron Johnson can contain Kelce and force Mahomes to one of his other receivers, the Bills’ defense can live with that. However, getting beat by the best weapon on the Chiefs’ offense will not be accepted and will allow Kansas City to put up points.
