Tre’Davious White returns to practice but will not play against KC Chiefs
Tre’Davious White is set to practice for the first time since suffering a torn ACL last year
The Buffalo Bills have been dealing with numerous injuries dating back to the beginning of training camp. The good news is that it hasn’t impacted the results too much during the regular season as evidenced by their 4-1 record and could be getting a key part of their secondary back soon.
On Wednesday, Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced that Tre’Davious White would be returning to practice today. The former first round pick has been on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list since the beginning of training camp due to a torn ACL he suffered last year against the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving night.
White wasn’t able to participate in training camp and remained on the PUP list to begin the season. This meant he was required to miss the first four games of the season and the Bills couldn’t activate the practice window until last week.
They ultimately did not do that but by him returning to practice today, the Bills have 21 days to move him to the active roster.
Tre’Davious White won’t play against the Kansas City Chiefs
While it is great news that Tre’Davious White is taking that next step in his recovery, head coach Sean McDermott did say that he would not play on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. This means that the earliest White will be able to return will be Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers as the Bills have their bye week next week.
There is no question that White would be great to have back against Patrick Mahomes, this seems like the most logical plan. It will give the Bills’ cornerback a chance to get back into game shape and won’t feel rushed to get back onto the field.
