It is only Week 6 but this clearly feels like it is the biggest game of the season for the Buffalo Bills. For the fifth time over the past three seasons, the Bills will play the Kansas City Chiefs, a team that has won three of those last four games.

Those games include two playoff games and both times the Buffalo Bills saw their season come to an end. In 2020, the game was in the AFC Championship Game, and then last year in the AFC Divisional Round.

When looking at this game, these are the top storylines heading into one of the biggest regular season matchups in the entire NFL.

Can the Buffalo Bills officially put last year’s loss behind them?

There is no question that the game last year was one of the most heartbreaking losses in the Buffalo Bills’ history. The Bills would fight back twice in the final two minutes of regulation to take the lead before watching the Chiefs tie it up with a field goal in the final 13 seconds.

The Bills’ offense would never get a chance to come back onto the field as the Chiefs would score a touchdown on the opening drive of overtime.

This was a topic of discussion for head coach Sean McDermott on Monday when he met with the media and had this to say about the game according to Heather Prusak:

The Buffalo Bills on Sunday will get a chance to show exactly how much they have learned from last year and if they can close out a win in Kansas City.
