Battle for the top seed in the AFC playoffs

There is going to be plenty of football to be played as the season isn’t even at the halfway point but the winner of this game would be the favorite for the top seed in the AFC. The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs are both 4-1 and after how the season has played out, they are clearly the best two teams in the conference.

The head-to-head matchup will play a major role in any potential tiebreakers down the road and that top seed carries a lot of advantages come playoff time. The team with the number one seed not only will be guaranteed home games throughout the playoffs but also secures a first round bye.

For the past two years the Buffalo Bills have played the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs and both times they have had to go on the road. Last year, the difference between the two teams was minimal at best and the deciding factor could have come down to the Chiefs being the home team and having the crowd behind them.

A lot can happen over the next two months but the deciding factor in whether or not the Buffalo Bills are the top seed likely will be how this game plays out on Sunday.
