Kaiir Elam

It has been a tough start for Kaiir Elam to his NFL career as he was a first round draft pick for the Buffalo Bills and it appeared he had a clear path to being a starter right from the beginning of the season.

However, he was passed on the depth chart by Christian Benford and has been rotating with his fellow rookie in the first two weeks. The injury for Dane Jackson opened the door for Elam to get his first career start and unfortunately drew the tough assignment of one of the fastest wide receivers in the league in Tyreek Hill.

The results were pretty impressive and Elam had an excellent game against Miami. While Elam didn’t shadow Hill the entire game, the fact that the Dolphins’ wide receiver only had two receptions for 33 yards is rather remarkable. The Bills’ first round pick was a big part of that.

The Bills have some questions at cornerback moving forward but the good news is that the coaching staff should be confident in a combination that includes Christian Benford, Dane Jackson, and Kaiir Elam.
