Buffalo Bills X-Factor: Shaq Lawson

Last week, Shaq Lawson was inactive as the Buffalo Bills went with just four defensive ends against the Rams. However, this week the coaching staff might want more size on the defensive line and with questions surrounding the availability of Ed Oliver and Tim Settle, having Lawson active for this game makes sense.

The former first round pick returned to Buffalo this offseason after stops with the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, and New York Jets. While Lawson has never developed into that impact pass rusher, one area that he excels is against the run.

The fact that the Titans have one of the best running backs in the league in Derrick Henry, it would make sense to have Lawson available to help defend the run. If Lawson is active, I would expect that he plays around 25-30% of the defensive snaps and potentially takes some from A.J. Epenesa this week to add some size on the defensive line.
