Buffalo Bills X-Factor: Jamison Crowder

The veteran wide receiver is on this list for two reasons entering Week 2 for the Buffalo Bills. The first is that he appears to be the primary punt returner based on him being active over rookie Khalil Shakir, who was listed as the starter on the initial depth chart.

The punt returner was a bit of a problem area on the roster last year as the Bills looked to a number of different players over the course of the season. In the game against the Rams, Crowder looked very comfortable back there and had a nice 20-yard return. This was his first punt return since 2018 and is not something he has done much recently.

The other reason that Crowder is an x-factor is on the offensive side of the ball as it appears he is going to split the responsibilities in the slot with Isaiah McKenzie. He is a sure-handed wide receiver and on all three of his receptions, he was able to pick up a first down.

The Titans don’t have a great answer for the slot corner position with Ugo Amadi being the likely slot corner as he played about 63% of the defensive snaps against the Giants. This is a big mismatch in favor of the Bills and Crowder and McKenzie should see an increase in targets this week.
