Safety

One of the reasons that the cornerbacks were so successful was certainly the pass rush by the defensive line but also having the veteran experience backing them up at safety. Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer collectively are one of the best safety duos in the league and they continue to show it on a weekly basis.

The return of Jordan Poyer was a big lift for this defense as he has been out due to an elbow injury. The former All-Pro made a big play in the second half when he was able to come down with an interception after it bounced off the hands of the Rams’ wide receiver.

In total, the two safeties combined for seven total tackles but their impact goes beyond the stat line, and having these two supporting and backing up Dane Jackson, Christian Benford, and Kaiir Elam is one of the reasons the Bills’ secondary is still going to be tough to beat to start the year.
