Von Miller

It was the first chance for Buffalo Bills fans to see Von Miller in a Bills uniform and he certainly did not disappoint. He would finish the game with two sacks (team-high), and three tackles for loss (team-high) to go along with four total tackles and two QB hits.

The impact of Miller on this defense was notable from the very first drive when he was able to get his first sack with Buffalo. He looked explosive and was making plays both rushing the passer and against the run as well.

The Bills’ defense in total had seven sacks and while that total is impressive, how they were able to do it might be the bigger story. According to NextGen Stats, the Bills didn’t blitz once to generate the pressure they did and this was the fourth most pressures generated by a team in a game while rushing four or fewer players.

This is the kind of impact the team was hoping Von Miller would have as teams are going to have to account for the former All-Pro and this will create winnable matchups for the other linemen.
