James Cook

The final player is one that was previously mentioned in second round draft pick James Cook. The former University of Georgia is a unique offensive player because while he may be listed as a running back, he excels more as a pass catcher.

The biggest question for Cook is how offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey will look to get the rookie involved in this game. He is a player that can be a chess piece for the Bills that can be moved around and create mismatches.

They can line him up in the backfield and move him in motion before the snap, have him split out wide and motion him back into the backfield, or just have him run routes out of the backfield and hopefully pull a linebacker into coverage.

On Monday, offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey was asked about what James Cook’s role might be this year. As Joe Buscaglia tweeted, Dorsey still didn’t give up too much and said it was something that will develop over the course of the game.

James Cook had some flashes during the preseason but I would imagine the coaching staff limited what they put on tape for other teams during their preseason game. I would imagine there is a plan in place to have Cook involved but Dorsey still is not willing to give away much until the game.
