The Buffalo Bills are set to kick off the 2022 season this week as they travel out west to face the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night. The Bills have high expectations this year and want to achieve what the Rams did last year and that is to be the final team at the end of the year hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.

This should be a great matchup between two excellent teams and these are five of the top storylines for the Buffalo Bills in Week 1.

Can the Buffalo Bills play spoiler on opening night?

At the end of the 2020 season, there is a photo of Stefon Diggs standing on the field at Arrowhead Stadium watching the Kansas City Chiefs celebrate as they punched their ticket to the Super Bowl with a win over the Buffalo Bills.

That memory was supposed to help motivate Diggs as that is where the All-Pro wide receiver wanted to help his team get to. The Buffalo Bills once again made the playoffs but also came up short with their season ending in Kansas City last year.

The Bills collectively as a team will have a chance to see a similar moment that could help motivate them at the start of the season as the Rams lift their Super Bowl banner before taking the field against Buffalo.

This time, the Bills will be able to respond to that moment and will look to play spoiler as the visiting team heading into SoFi Stadium to take the Rams. This is a high-profile game that will be in front of a national audience and the defending AFC East Champions will look to start the season on a high note.
