The Buffalo Bills brought back former first round draft pick Shaq Lawson this offseason but he has had a relatively quiet summer. He hasn’t made many notable plays and has struggled to move up the depth chart. Based on the depth chart, he is clearly behind players like Boogie Basham and A.J. Epenesa.

Lawson is an interesting player for this defense as he probably is the best defensive end against the run behind only Greg Rousseau. The question becomes, and this is going to be the challenge for the coaching staff, is where does he fit in the game day roster.

The Bills are only able to have 46 players active on game day and if they are going to have four running backs active, or three tight ends, there may not be enough room to have five defensive ends active. It seems like Shaq Lawson may find himself inactive more than active this year unless there is an injury at the position.
