The Buffalo Bills began the process of getting the roster down to 53 players on Monday when they released six players. That means that over the next 24 hours they are going to have to release another 20 players.

This is where it is going to become very challenging for general manager Brandon Beane and the front office as they are almost certainly going to be forced to say goodbye to some talented players. Another potential avenue though for the Bills is to see what the trade market might be for some of these players.

The team already began that process last week when they traded Cody Ford to the Arizona Cardinals for a 2023 fifth round pick. These are four players that could generate interest from other NFL teams for potentially a Day 3 pick that could also help the Buffalo Bills get something in return.

The Buffalo Bills have eight offensive linemen that should be roster locks with Dion Dawkins, Rodger Saffold, Mitch Morse, Ryan Bates, David Quessenberry, Spencer Brown, Tommy Doyle, and Greg Mancz.

I also believe that Bobby Hart has shown enough in training camp and preseason to warrant being on the 53-man roster which leaves the question if they want to have nine players on their 53-man roster or 10 players. If they do elect to have 10 offensive linemen, then Greg Van Roten would be the player that would have that final roster spot.

However, the front office may want to use that roster spot elsewhere, and considering Van Roten is an experienced offensive lineman with 50 career starts over the past four years between his time with the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets, he could generate some interest in the trade market.
