One player that the Buffalo Bills haven’t had a chance to see in the preseason was wide receiver Marquez Stevenson. Last year’s sixth round pick suffered a foot injury during training camp and had to have surgery.

At the time of the injury, McDermott had said that Stevenson was having a good training camp and the injury was “unfortunate”, according to ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg. He still hasn’t been able to return to practice and the Bills will essentially have three options for Stevenson.

The first would be to place him on injured reserve now but that would mean he would miss the entire season. The Bills could also have him as part of the initial 53-man roster and then place him on injured reserve and he would miss a minimum of four games.

The third option and this probably makes the most sense for the Buffalo Bills, is to have him as part of the roster cuts but bring him back on the practice squad. This would give the team the chance to let him fully heal but potentially still keep him part of the team.

It certainly is a risk as he could be claimed on waivers but in terms of his injury and the depth the team already has at wide receiver, this would make the most sense.
