For the second straight week, the AFC East had three of the four teams come away with a win. However, this time it was the Miami Dolphins that were on the losing end, falling to the Raiders by a final score of 15-13. Meanwhile, the Patriots got into the win column with a 20-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers, who the Buffalo Bills play in their preseason finale.

The New York Jets kept pace with the Buffalo Bills in the win column as they would win their Monday night matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

However, wins and losses don’t matter as much in the preseason as some of the other storylines are more important and could have an impact on the regular season.

New York Jets rest most of their starters against the Falcons

While the Buffalo Bills had most of their starters out on the field against the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets went the other direction and kept almost all of their starters out of their game against the Falcons.

While on the one hand, the Jets are not a team that is expected to compete for a Super Bowl this year and have a number of players that could use the extra reps, it is hard to blame head coach Robert Salah for this decision.

Over the past few weeks, the team has lost Mekhi Benton for the season and almost lost starting quarterback Zach Wilson for the season. Fortunately for Wilson, he appears to have dodged a serious injury and will miss only a few weeks during the season after his knee injury in the first preseason game.
