The Buffalo Bills are set to play their second preseason game on Saturday against the Denver Broncos. This is the final home preseason game of the year before they go on the road to play the Carolina Panthers in the preseason finale.

The Bills began the process of trimming their roster by releasing six players since the last game and there will be another round of cuts after this game on Tuesday before they have to cut the roster down to 53 players before the season.

This is going to be a pivotal preseason game for the Buffalo Bills and these are some of the top questions entering this game.

How much do the starters actually play?

The Buffalo Bills kept their starters out of the first preseason game but that will change this weekend and Sean McDermott said that they will play, including quarterback Josh Allen. However, he didn’t give a specific snap count or how many quarters they will play but rather described it as a “healthy amount”.

The Bills likely will see how the game progresses to determine playing time as the coaching staff will probably have a few specific things they hope to achieve but will not keep starters out there too long. One of the goals will Ken Dorsey to communicate the plays to Josh Allen but also how the dynamic is with Dorsey up in the booth between series.

These are some things that are tough to simulate during practice so this is probably a big reason for having the starters out there. There is certainly the potential for injuries and that is why it will be up to the coaching staff to manage this during the game.
