4 observations from the Buffalo Bills ‘Return of the Blue & Red’ practice
Gabe Davis makes a big play for the Buffalo Bills’ offense
While Isaiah McKenzie has been the wide receiver that has gotten most of the attention this training camp, Gabe Davis was the one to make a big play during practice Friday night.
The third-year wide receiver had a reception for over 40 yards on a play where the defense lost Davis on a busted coverage, according to Thad Brown. Then later in practice, Davis would catch a touchdown from Josh Allen on a two-yard play but as Mark Gaughan tweeted, he had a 25-yard touchdown earlier on the drive but it was overturned by Micah Hyde.
This is a big season for Gabe Davis as he is stepping in as the full-time starter and will be the other wide receiver opposite Stefon Diggs. In his first two seasons in the league, Davis was a part-time player but as the season went along, he saw his role expand.
Last year, he was basically the starter for the final six games in place of Emmanuel Sanders who originally missed time due to a knee injury. However, Davis was playing so well that he remained the starter.
Gabe Davis is off to a great start and looks poised to capitalize on the opportunity in front of him.
