Denzel Ward. 4. player. 53. . .

Another cornerback in the AFC North who was drafted in the first round that the Buffalo Bills will need to account for is Denzel Ward. The Cleveland Browns’ cornerback was the fourth overall pick in 2018 and recently signed a five-year extension this offseason with the Browns.

Ward has made the Pro Bowl twice in his first four years in the NFL, with his first nomination his rookie season and then he made the Pro Bowl last year. He is an excellent cornerback that can match up against the top wide receiver and take them out of the game plan.

In four seasons, Ward has 10 career interceptions and 50 passes defended while allowing only 53% of passes to be completed when thrown at him in coverage. It is likely that Ward will draw Stefon Diggs in coverage in their matchup and while Josh Allen won’t ignore Diggs, this may be a week that he looks to players like Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie, and Dawson Knox to step up.
