Von Miller was signed as a free agent by the Buffalo Bills with the hope that he would transform their pass rush and if the Madden 23 ratings are any indication, Miller will certainly do that. He is the fifth-best defensive end in Madden 23 with a rating of 92 but really he moves up two spot since Aaron Donald, who is one of the few players with an overall rating of 99, is surprisingly listed as a defensive end and not a defensive tackle. The other player that is really a defensive tackle but listed as a defensive end is Cameron Heyward with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The former Broncos and Rams defensive end is behind Donald, Myles Garrett (who also has an overall rating of 99), Nick Bosa (94 overall), Cameron Heyward (93 overall). When looking through the rest of the Madden 23 ratings, Miller is considered one of the best in the league in terms of pursuit (95) and block shedding (92) which ranks third among defensive ends.

Madden 23 ratings for the rest of the Buffalo Bills’ defensive ends

After Von Miller, there is a significant gap between him and the rest of the defensive ends on the Buffalo Bills roster. The next highest-rated player is Greg Rousseau, whose Madden 23 ratings is 76 overall. While Rousseau is 16 points behind Miller, there are some areas where he actually received a higher rating or is very similar.

One of those that Rousseau is higher is acceleration where Rousseau has a rating of 90 while Von Miller is at 86. Other ratings that are similar are speed with Miller at 85 and Rousseau at 83. Another notable rating is pursuit and while Miller ranks as one of the best, Rousseau has a chance to be right there as he is ten points behind at 85.

He is followed by A.J. Epenesa (72 overall), Shaq Lawson (72 overall), Carlos Basham (70 overall) and Mike Love (64 overall). It is interesting to see that Greg Rousseau is much closer to the other defensive ends on the roster like Epenesa, Lawson, and Basham than he is to Von Miller even with him being close in some categories.
