This season, Zack Moss and James Cook should be complementary running backs to Devin Singletary, who should see a majority of the rushing work for this offense. Last year, Singletary’s stat line was:

  • 870 rushing yards
  • 7 rushing touchdowns
  • 50 targets
  • 40 receptions
  • 228 receiving yards
  • 1 receiving touchdown

However, a majority of those stats came in the final weeks of the regular season once the coaching staff seemed to make a commitment to running the ball and Singletary was the player that saw the biggest increase in his work.

This season, Ken Dorsey should not abandon the run game as much based on how good this group looked at the end of last season. Devin Singletary should be a big part of this offense right from the start but his stat line will look different.

The addition of James Cook should significantly cut into his targets but this should allow him to add more rushing attempts on a per game basis. The presence of Zack Moss will also likely limit his touchdown upside this season.

This shift for the offense and how they approach the backfield should help Devin Singletary remain effective between the 20s and give the Buffalo Bills their first 1,000-yard rusher since 2017 when LeSean McCoy broke that mark.

2022 stats: 235 rushing attempts, 1,050 rushing yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 25 targets, 17 receptions, 100 receiving yards
