47. . . . New England Patriots. 1. team

Tight Ends: Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Devin Asiasi

The best tight end group in the AFC East belongs to the New England Patriots with their big free agent additions last offseason of Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith. The two players had very different seasons in their first year in New England.

For Henry, it was very productive and he was actually tied with Dawson Knox for most receiving touchdowns by a tight end with nine as well as 50 receptions for 603 receiving yards. It also marked the first season in Henry’s career that he was able to play every regular season game as he dealt with injuries to start his career during his time with the Chargers.

However, Jonnu Smith’s first season with the Patriots was underwhelming as he had only 29 receptions, 294 receiving yards, and one touchdown. He certainly had better seasons towards the end of his time with the Titans and he certainly can return to that level this season with the Patriots.

As for Devin Asiasi, he moved down the depth chart last year with the additions of Henry and Smith last offseason and has yet to make much of an impact. For his career, Asiasi has only two career receptions over his first two years in the NFL.

Even with Asiasi not making enough of an impact, Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith are enough to move the Patriots to the top of the division.
