How Kaiir Elam is like Tre’Davious White

This year the Buffalo Bills drafted a cornerback in the first round for the first time since 2017 by selecting Kaiir Elam. That year was Sean McDermott’s first with the team as head coach and they would select Tre’Davious White, who has developed into an excellent cornerback and a key piece of this defense.

There certainly will be similarities drawn between the two cornerbacks and Elam will have high expectations as a rookie. On Tuesday, Micah Hyde was asked if there is anything from Kaiir Elam that reminds him of Tre’Davious White and he said:

"“You could tell that as I am saying stuff, he’s taking mental notes and that’s how Tre’Davious [White] was when he first got here. He was battling on the football field, which Kaiir is doing but also just learning from his mistakes.”"

The mental aspect is something that has been discussed plenty when it comes to Kaiir Elam and there is even the video from his interview with the Buffalo Bills at the NFL Combine where he shared his notes from his college games.

The Buffalo Bills are going to be looking to Elam to be a big part of this defense very early and this is something that should help him in the NFL.
