It was a busy offseason for general manager Brandon Beane as he tries to put enough talent on this Buffalo Bills’ roster to hopefully get them to a Super Bowl in 2022.

However, it is no secret that the Bills are only going to go as far as Josh Allen will take them and Beane’s focus should be on finding ways to make his quarterback’s job a little easier.

The good news is that according to Judy Battista with NFL.com, the Bills’ general manager did just that. She included the Bills among five teams that significantly helped their quarterback and Buffalo was joined by the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, and Arizona Cardinals.

"Buffalo lost offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to the Giants and replaced him via the in-house promotion of Ken Dorsey, a switch that will be closely watched. Meanwhile, Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders hit the open market. But the Bills responded by supplying Josh Allen with a whole host of new targets, adding a slot receiver to the attack in Jamison Crowder, a tight end to join Dawson Knox in O.J. Howard, plus draftees Khalil Shakir (who can line up at any of the receiver positions) and James Cook (a pass-catching weapon who will also help what has been an inconsistent running game)."

Brandon Beane’s biggest move for the Buffalo Bills this offseason

All the moves listed by Judy Battista certainly will help Josh Allen this upcoming season and having Ken Dorsey as offensive coordinator should help as he will no longer have Brian Daboll calling plays for him for the first time in his career.

However, arguably the biggest move is one that likely wouldn’t impact this season but should in the years after 2022 was the extension of wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The Bills traded for Diggs prior to the 2020 season and the former fifth round pick and Allen have had career years in the two seasons they have played together.

Beane made sure that connection would continue as he signed him to a four-year extension that keeps him under contract through the 2027 season.

The presence of Diggs in this offense makes it easier not only for Allen but the other playmakers like Gabriel Davis and the previously mentioned Jamison Crowder, James Cook, and Khalil Shakir by Battista.

The Buffalo Bills’ offense is built around Josh Allen and general manager Brandon Beane continues to do a good job of ensuring he has enough talent around him to give this team a top-tier offense.
