Big opportunities for Kaiir Elam and Dane Jackson

On the defensive side of the ball, this week presents a great opportunity for Kaiir Elam and Dane Jackson with the uncertainty around Tre’Davious White and if he will be available to start the season. White is working his way back from a torn ACL suffered last season and there is a chance the team may need to begin the year with Elam and Jackson as their starting cornerbacks.

Last week, Leslie Frazier talked about both cornerbacks and the coaching staff is expecting a lot from them. In regards to Elam, Frazier said “We need Kaiir to step up and play well for us early.”

Frazier also spoke highly when asked about Dane Jackson and said he “really held his own and the moments never seem too big for him” and is one of the best young tackling corners.

This week during minicamp will be a great test for both as they will be lining up across from Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis while trying to slow down Josh Allen, who is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. If they have a strong week at minicamp, it should only give the coaching staff more confidence in these two if White is not ready to start the year.
