Who were the Top 3 players Pro Football Focus picked for the Buffalo Bills entering the upcoming season?

The Buffalo Bills once again look like they are on their way to another division title and playoff appearance in 2022, which would be the third straight year winning a division title and the fourth playoff appearance in the past five seasons.

They don’t have that type of success without having one of the best teams in the NFL and for the Bills it starts at the top. Recently, Ben Linsey with Pro Football Focus picked the Top 3 players on every roster, and for the Buffalo Bills the three choices shouldn’t be that much of a surprise with Linsey picking quarterback Josh Allen, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, and cornerback Tre’Davious White.

"The only two quarterback-wide receiver duos with more first down conversions than Allen and Diggs over the last two seasons (139) are Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams and Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce. Diggs and Allen are certainly in the conversation for the league’s best duo.The final spot was more difficult to narrow down to just one of Buffalo’s stars on defense. White got the nod as one of the stingiest CB1s in the league over the past five years, as his 65.5 passer rating allowed since 2017 ranks second among all cornerbacks with at least 100 targets."

Linsey wrote he also considered Von Miller and starting safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer.

For me, when looking at the three players Allen and White are easy choices. Josh Allen has emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and he really is a big reason the team has had the success they have.

I believe Tre’Davious White is the second most important player behind Allen because of what he brings to this defense as the top cornerback. Last year, the Bills unfortunately found out what it would be like without White and this secondary struggled without their former All-Pro cornerback.

The only player that might be replaced in that Top 3 would be Stefon Diggs. This is not to say that Diggs is not a good player or valuable to this offense but Josh Allen has shown he can make the players around him better. The offense may not struggle as much if Stefon Diggs is absent compared to someone like Micah Hyde on the defensive side of the ball

I would likely move Micah Hyde ahead of Diggs for this reason because of what he brings to this secondary and defense in terms of his leadership on the field to go along with his performance.
