NFL player comparisons for Buffalo Bills running back James Cook
Golden Tate
MockDraftable Player Comparison Percentage: 93.3%
The final player comparison is another wide receiver in Golden Tate, who was a second round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2010 out of Notre Dame.
Both players have similar body shape as Cook is one inch taller than Tate but both weighed 199 pounds coming out of college. They would have identical 40-yard dash times of 4.42 seconds with Tate having the better vertical jump by two inches but Cook beating Tate in the broad jump by four inches.
Tate is an interesting comparison because he doesn’t necessarily fit the mold many would expect from a wide receiver. He seemed to play with a physicality that’s not found at the position and was a tough slot receiver.
He would have a stretch of four years with 90 or more receptions in his career and broke 1,000 receiving yards three times.
For James Cook, this is another player that makes a lot of sense as it wouldn’t be surprising to see him line up in the slot often and could bring a similar skill set to what Tate did for the Seahawks, Lions, Eagles and Giants over his career.
