Who will win the starting kickoff and punt return jobs for the Buffalo Bills?

In 2019 and 2020, the Buffalo Bills had one of the best returners in the league in Andre Roberts. He would make the Pro Bowl both seasons and would be the team’s primary returner both on kickoffs and punts.

Last offseason, the Bills saw Roberts leave in free agency and sign with the Houston Texans. They would turn to Isaiah McKenzie after he had an impressive game the year prior when he returned a punt 84-yards for a touchdown. However, he did not have the same success and struggled to protect the ball.

The Bills would eventually give rookie Marquez Stevenson the chance to solidify the role but the team once again made a change when he struggled to protect the football. By the end of the season, the coaching staff was using a combination of McKenzie, Stevenson and Micah Hyde on kick-off and punt returns.

Looking ahead to this season, the Bills may be heading in a similar direction but there are a few new players that could become the full-time starters. Let’s take a look at the five most likely candidates.
