In the third round the Buffalo Bills drafted linebacker Terrel Bernard out of Baylor. He is exactly the type of linebacker that the Bills look for in this defense as he has good athleticism and does a good job in pass coverage.

However, the selection of Bernard seems to fill the same role in this defense that Matt Milano does. While he may have a role in sub-packages, he is unlikely to find a path to being a full-time starter barring an injury by Milano.

One player that might have been a better selection was taken with the very next pick in offensive lineman Dylan Parham out of Memphis. He is an experienced guard that could have helped solidify the interior of the offensive line and be the replacement for Rodger Saffold next year, who is playing on a one-year deal.

In the scouting report on NFL.com, Lance Zierlein compared Parham to former Buffalo Bills’ guard Andy Levitre. If he is able to play up to that level then this is one player the Bills may regret not drafting.
