Buffalo Bills announce three preseason games for the 2022 season
On Thursday night, the 2022 regular season schedule was announced for the Buffalo Bills and there are plenty of great matchups for the upcoming season. Alongside the regular season schedule, the league also announced the three preseason games the Bills will have this season.
Last year, the league expanded the regular season to 17 games over 18 weeks and with the additional regular season game, the preseason schedule was shortened to only three games (or four for the two teams playing the Hall of Fame Game).
Last year, the Bills had two road games and one home game during the preseason. However, with the extra road game during the regular season this season, the team will have two home preseason games at Highmark Stadium.
Buffalo Bills 2022 Preseason Schedule
Week 1: vs. Indianapolis Colts, 4 PM (WIVB)
Week 2: vs. Denver Broncos, 1 PM (WIVB)
Week 3: at Carolina Panthers, TBD
The preseason schedule opens with those two home games as they face the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos. Both teams have new quarterbacks as the Colts traded for former Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan and the Broncos made the blockbuster trade for Russell Wilson with the Seattle Seahawks.
The second preseason game also gives Von Miller, who signed with the Bills this offseason, potentially a chance to play at least a few snaps against the team that drafted him.
The Bills will finish the preseason with a game on the road against the Carolina Panthers. This will be the final game before the team opens the 2022 season against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football.
One team that is notably missing is the Detroit Lions, who the Bills have played consistently over the years. In fact, Buffalo has played the Lions in the preseason each of the past three years.
However, with the two teams scheduled to play each other on Thanksgiving during the regular season they will not play each other in the preseason.
