Buffalo Bills Secondary (9)

Cornerbacks: Tre’Davious White, Kaiir Elam, Dane Jackson, Taron Johnson, Siran Neal

Safeties: Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, Jaquan Johnson, Damar Hamlin

After a number of years where it was thought the Buffalo Bills could use a high draft pick at the cornerback spot, the team finally did it by drafting Kaiir Elam in the first round.

The former University of Florida cornerback should be a starter in Week 1. The question will be whether it is stepping in for Tre’Davious White or if he beat out Dane Jackson for the spot opposite White.

Jackson, who started at the end of the season after White’s injury, would move down and be the primary backup at the position with Taron Johnson as the starting nickel corner. This leaves Siran Neal as the final cornerback but he primarily is a special teams player but could see his role expand on defense this season.

Of all the positions, the safety position should not see any change as the Bills didn’t bring in any safeties this offseason and have all four players under contract this upcoming season. The biggest question is around Jordan Poyer, who is looking for a new contract as he is entering the final year of his deal.
