Buffalo Bills Draft Pick: Terrel Bernard (3rd Round, 89th overall)

After two picks where the Buffalo Bills address some of their top needs, they seemed to select a development, long-term prospect in linebacker Terrel Bernard out of Baylor.

Bernard has a similar body type to Matt Milano and brings a lot of the same skill sets to the position. He is not someone who can stuff the line of scrimmage against the run but is more of a chase and tackle linebacker.

Bernard also does an excellent job in pass coverage and didn’t allow a single touchdown in nearly 1,000 coverage snaps according to Pro Football Focus.

The biggest question for Bernard is what his path to seeing the field and how much playing time does he see as a rookie? The Bills likely see him as a backup to Matt Milano, which adding a player similar to him makes sense to an extent considering Milano’s injury history.

However, when considering offensive guard Dylan Parham, safety Nick Cross, and even linebacker Leo Chenal were still on the board this pick doesn’t get the grade the first two did.
