Buffalo Bills Round 5 (Pick 168): D’vonte Price, RB (Florida International)

Price is a very intriguing prospect. NFL scouts are falling in love with his vision and pass protection, but his situation at FIU makes him a harsh evaluation. FIU went a combined 1-16 the past two years and played every game from behind, which denied Price a chance to show what he can do as a workhorse. Despite clearly being FIU’s best player this past season, Price only saw about 15 touches a game due to the game script.

There could be more to be unlocked with Price, and worst-case scenario, you use a fifth-round pick on a guy that can give you some productive carries and help keep your quarterback upright.

Buffalo Bills Round 6 (Pick 203): Tyrese Robinson, OT (Oklahoma)

Depth on the offensive line is never bad, and Robinson is the type of offensive lineman the Bills covet. Brandon Beane loves versatility on his offensive line, and Robinson provides that. Robinson played 701 snaps at right guard in 2020 and then popped out to right tackle and played 781 snaps there in 2021. His lack of mobility will likely place him at guard in the NFL, but his size (6’3 317 LBs) and nastiness will give him a chance for success.

It’s the 203rd pick of the draft, so you’re probably not going to hit a home run, but Robinson seems like a late-round prospect who could have a smooth transition to the NFL.

Buffalo Bills Round 7 (Pick 231): Matt Araiza, P (San Diego State)

I was growing tired of watching Matt Haack shank punts, so I decided to use my 7th-round pick on the punt god. Araiza should take over the punting duties, which gives him a better chance to immediately impact this Bills team than anyone else available with the 231st pick.

Araiza set the NCAA single-season record for punt average and broke the record for most punts of 50 yards and 60 yards in a season. With 36 punts landing inside the 20, Ariaza dropped a shocking 64.3% of his punts inside the 20 and punted as far as 84 yards. Over 55% of his punts were not returned.

The Bills are coming off a season where they had the #1 total defense and a top 5 offense, now is the time to add to their special teams and they can use an inconsequential pick on one of the best punter prospects ever.
