The Buffalo Bills could enter the 2022 season with the wide receivers they currently have on the roster and the position would be more than capable to get the job done with Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, Jamison Crowder, and Isaiah McKenzie.

However, general manager Brandon Beane could still look to improve this position and one player that could make sense is Western Michigan’s Skyy Moore. Let’s take a closer look at the player and how he might fit within the offense.

Measurables/Stats

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 195 pounds

Arms: 31″

Hands: 10 1/4″

In three seasons at Western Michigan, Skyy Moore had 171 receptions, 2,482 receiving yards, and 16 receiving touchdowns. However, this past season was by far his best and most productive. He finished the year with 95 receptions, 1.292 receiving yards, and 10 receiving touchdowns.

NFL.com Scouting Report by Lance Zierlein

"Productive three-year starter with decent athleticism and good ball skills but just average separation potential. Moore is courageous working into the teeth of the defense and tenacious to come up with contested catches from anywhere on the field. He’s a one-note route-runner lacking acceleration out of break points but showed off impressive vertical speed at the NFL Scouting Combine. His ball skills and toughness create opportunities as a reliable target and capable route-runner from release to whistle. His best fit is from the slot, but long-term success will depend on his ability to keep fine-tuning his craft."

How Skyy Moore fits with the Buffalo Bills

While Lance Zierlein sees Moore’s best fit in the NFL at slot, he is likely someone that could play inside or outside for the Buffalo Bills. This would likely be one of the reasons that the Bills would consider drafting the former Western Michigan wide receiver.

As a rookie, he could play a reserve role as the primary backup in the slot and on the outside. However, long-term if Buffalo were to draft Moore, the clearest path to a starting role will be in the slot. The Bills just signed Stefon Diggs to a contract extension and have Gabriel Davis under contract for the next two seasons.

Meanwhile, Jamison Crowder is only playing on a one-year deal and could be viewed just as a bridge player for this season until Moore, or another younger receiver, is ready to take over.
