Final Thoughts on the Buffalo Bills signing Stefon Diggs to a four-year extension

Overall, I feel like this deal is a win-win for both sides. Diggs could have clamored for a deal over $120 million in value, at over $27 million per year, with more guaranteed money than Hill’s $72.2 million.

But instead, he took a little bit less in each category, and he still ranks in the Top 5 of most categories for a receiver. So not only do you keep Diggs happy, you keep your superstar QB happy, and you keep one of the most skilled wideouts in the league on your roster.

Diggs’ run in Buffalo has been historic. He’s the only player in franchise history to have back-to-back 100-catch, 1,000-yard seasons. The last Buffalo Bills receiver to have over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons was Stevie Johnson (2010-12), while Lee Evans was the last Bills player to top 1,200 receiving yards in a season (2006).

Diggs filled a need that the Buffalo Bills have yearned for since the Sammy Watkins experience fizzled out (ironically, both wore No. 14 in Buffalo). And from the looks of it, he may be doing so for many years to come.
