According to a report by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Buffalo Bills are among the teams interested in one of the top free agents still left

The Buffalo Bills don’t have much salary cap left after a number of moves they have already made this offseason. However, this hasn’t stopped general manager Brandon Beane from still trying to improve this team and put them in the best possible position to make a run to the Super Bowl.

One of their biggest needs is the cornerback position and there just happens to be a former All-Pro cornerback still available in Stephon Gilmore. On Sunday, Jeremy Fowler was on Sportscenter and according to Bleacher Report’s Tyler Conway said that the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadephia Eagles were a few teams interested in Gilmore.

He also noted that there could be some wild-card teams and specifically mentioned the Buffalo Bills:

"There’s some other wild-card teams. Buffalo Bills, they’ve been looking at some starting cornerback help. He played there as a rookie; maybe there’s a reunion in the works potentially."

It shouldn’t be surprising to hear the Buffalo Bills involved based on the previous history

One thing is for sure with general manager Brandon Beane leading the front office for the Bills, they are likely having discussions with a majority of the top free agents. They are also trying their best to keep those discussions quiet.

Shortly after the Buffalo Bills signed Von Miller, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was on the Pat McAfee Show discussing the signing of the star pass rusher. Rapoport said leading up to the signing that he was hearing that there was a mystery team in discussions.

That team ended up being the Bills and he has come to learn that the Bills are a franchise that is secretive when it comes to these deals.

The fact that the Bills are described as the wild-card team by Fowler is not surprising. A move like this would certainly address the biggest need for the team but with limited cap space, are they able to structure a contract that would work for Gilmore.

Does Brandon Beane have one more trick up his sleeve? Only time will tell.
