Buffalo Bills meet with LB Chad Muma at NFL Combine, per report
Could the Buffalo Bills draft another player from the University of Wyoming?
The last time the Buffalo Bills drafted a player from the University of Wyoming it worked out better than many could have hoped. That player was Josh Allen, who has ascended to being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
During the NFL Combine, the Bills met with another former University of Wyoming player, linebacker Chad Muma according to The Draft Network’s Justin Melo. As Melo noted in his tweet, the former University of Wyoming linebacker had an excellent Combine and tested very well with a 9.79 RAS Score.
Muma played 33 games over four seasons at the University of Wyoming and finished with 266 total tackles, 19 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, and three interceptions. This past season was undoubtedly his best as he would have 142 total tackles, eight tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns.
Chad Muma could be a quality backup for the Buffalo Bills
The scouting report on NFL.com by Lance Zierlein describes a player who likely would be drafted on Day 3 and could be a backup inside or strong-side linebacker. He also noted that Muma could be a contributor on special teams.
While the Buffalo Bills are looking for a replacement for A.J. Klein, Muma sounds more like a potential replacement for Tyler Matakevich. He is one of the top special teams players in the NFL but is entering the final year of his contract, according to Spotrac.

The Buffalo Bills don’t necessarily have a reason to make a change this year but adding Muma now could give him time to develop and take over that role from Matakevich in 2023 if he were to leave in free agency. When considering there aren’t many glaring needs, using some of these later draft picks with a focus on the future would make sense for the Buffalo Bills.
