Zack Moss was a third round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2020 and the thought at the time was his powerful running style could compliment Devin Singletary to give this offense a dynamic one-two punch at the running back position.

However, over the past two seasons that hasn’t necessarily worked as planned, and towards the end of last season, Moss wasn’t much of a factor. In the final six games, Moss was a healthy scratch in three of those games, and in the games he was active he only had 13 carries.

The trend continued into the playoffs as he had only one carry and played six total snaps.

This offseason, Buffalo tried to add J.D. McKissic but after he decided to return to Washington they signed Duke Johnson. It now raises the question of where Moss fits into this offense and while Buffalo could keep him on the roster since he is on a rookie contract and provides depth, it wouldn’t also be surprising to see them try to trade him or even cut him when it is time to begin to trim the roster down to 53 players.
