Round 3, Pick 89: Cam Taylor-Britt, CB (Nebraska)

In the third round, the Buffalo Bills turn to the defensive side of the ball and select cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt out of Nebraska. He has been a starter the past three years at cornerback and during that time had 128 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, five interceptions, and 22 passes defended.

There are two reasons that I think Cam Taylor-Britt seems like a perfect fit for the Buffalo Bills to address the cornerback position. In his scouting report on The Draft Network, Kyle Crabbs writes that Taylor-Britt plays very well in zone coverages, which is something that Buffalo utilizes pretty frequently.

The other reason is that Crabbs describes a player who does an excellent job in terms of tackling and support against the run. One common theme among cornerbacks that the Buffalo Bills have brought in under McDermott and Beane is that they have to do a good job in this area.

Even if the Buffalo Bills re-sign Levi Wallace, I expect they will draft another cornerback and there may not be a better fit than Cam Taylor-Britt.
