Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen

Patrick Mahomes has seen great success since being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017. He has led his team to two Super Bowls, lifting the Lombardi in 2020 after beating the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Florida; then losing in 2021 to Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Raymond James Stadium.

This season, Mahomes has thrown for 4839 yards, compared to Allen’s 4407. Despite this, the Chiefs QB has thrown just one more TD (37) than Josh (36). Furthermore, Mahomes and Allen are more or less level in interceptions, with the former totaling 13 to QB1’s 15. Running the ball isn’t a major factor of Mahomes’ game, but racked up a pretty respectable 381 yards in 17 games. However, this differs quite greatly from the rushing yards of Allen (763), proving how dangerous QB1 is when on the move. In terms of sacks, Mahomes was brought down narrowly more (28) than Allen (26).

Patrick Mahomes has been labeled ‘the next Tom Brady‘, being shown alongside the ‘G.O.A.T.’ on the latest EA Sports Madden game. However, these statistics show that Josh Allen is not too far, if at all, behind Mahomes in terms of quality.
